I couldn't find any prefabricated doll hats that would fit the Applejack I made a few weeks ago, so I attempted to make one from scratch using my ghetto adaptation of the traditional hat-blocking technique used to make real hats. Decent outcome for a first pass, but there are some nagging imperfections that I will attempt to fix by replacing the type of felt and stiffener used the next time I try this.
Extensive research did not turn up any real cowboy hats configured like Applejack's, so I had to break from the traditional patterns and creases to accommodate quirks like the cutout at the front and the rear-upturned brim.
I detailed the hat just for kicks to see how realistic I can make it, using my Stetson cattleman as a reference. Added a vinyl sweatband and, assuming Rarity has the monopoly on fashion in Ponyville, a satin lining with a variant of the Carousel Boutique logo vector-traced from "The Ticketmaster" episode.
